The proposal for a gateway to the city of Nagoya serves as a monument to our contemporary condition, in which global connectivity is shaped by media and electronic communication. Drawing inspiration from Venturi and Scott Brown’s Learning from Las Vegas, the project is conceived to be experienced at the speed of the automobile. Its form and visual impact are designed to register quickly, offering travelers an immediate impression of the city and situating Nagoya within a broader international context.
