This residential project was designed for a family seeking to transform their suburban home with a distinctly Portuguese character. The clients requested an atmosphere reminiscent of traditional Portuguese tiles, while maintaining a contemporary sensibility that aligns with the rest of the house.
The layout is organized to create a balanced, yet functional spa-like environment. A double vanity anchors the center of the room, while a soaking tub is placed by the window to capture natural light. At the opposite end, the shower and water closet are positioned to provide both privacy and spatial clarity.
Materiality becomes the defining feature, with cement tiles on the floor introduce warmth and texture, while patterned ceramic tiles on the walls evoke the spirit of Portuguese azulejos in a contemporary interpretation.
